Welcome to Salty Sandy. I am Sandra Jennings and my studio is based in Jan Juc, near Geelong, on the Victorian coastline. I am relatively new to the professional art scene; emerging you might say, although according to some criteria, I am no longer allowed to emerge, as I am over 30 years old!!

I am largely self taught – apart from a few private lessons, now and again, over the years, from various Geelong artists. I have loved painting and drawing and all manner of arts and crafts since I was in primary school. Art, maths and science were always my favourite subjects right through school.

At school I had always wanted to be a vet and an artist, but somehow, at the end of year 12, I chose to become a people’s nurse instead. However, the yearning toward design and creativity has always stayed with me, like an old friendship waiting to be rekindled. So, in 2012, I completed a course in printmaking at the Gordon Institute, in Geelong, followed by the completion of a certificate IV in art and design, also at the Gordon, Geelong, in 2014.
